Multiplier Effect

Recent Studies in economic mention that goverment spending and investment are able to trigger other GDP factors like creating more job thus up consumption and eventually bring up the GDP.

This set me thinking how about kindness and happiness? Can the ripple effect work? Like the multiplier, if we can spread some kindness and share our happiness to others, will it work like the multiplier? Hmm....I am really curious and will like to see some result. So starting from next monday, I will be sending sms messages to friends and hopefully they can forward those messages and keep the blessing going.

So for all those reading this blog by chance, please do not delete my SMS and try to forward it. In this recession period, everyone is feeling unease and it's time for a pat on the shoulder with some words of encouragement or action of concern.

Stay fun and healthy and keep the message going!

Faith

It was a busy month for me therefore please pandon me for lack of updating in my blog....err....maybe no one reads it (realize that most of my close friends do not have time to write blogs so dont even need to mention reading my blog). Oh well....anyway just in case there is someone reading and following my blog...thanks and may you find peace, love and faith in this new year.

A quick update on me...I am still having my exams, last paper will be on the 17Jan so hopefully I can get to blog more and write something challenging for our mind. By doing this, I get to organize my thoughts and at the same time able to do more research to revalidate my faith, increasing my faithfulness.

Definition of Faith

1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.
3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.

Someone once said that it was blind faith for one to believe in religion. It might be true for most case but not for Christians. Faith in Christianity can be based on evidence therefore it is reasonable faith. From my recent readings of McDowell, he mentions that the Christian faith is faith in Christ. Its value or worth is not in the one believing but in the One believed, not in the one trusting but in the One trusted.

Although many Muslims or Buddhists are more dedicated and show more faith than some Christians but it does not matter how much faith you have but rather who is the object of your faith that is very important from the Christian perspective of faith.

New year with new purpose

Thomas Aquinas once wrote, "There is within every soul a thirst for happiness and meaning." I was once lost without aim in life and always ask myself...Is that all? Whenever I get something that I wanted badly, I am excited and happy for a moment and I asked myself...is that all? Why can't this happiness last? I wanted to be happy and to find meaning for my life.

I start to read more, to gain more knowledge, look at people that I thought was successful and look glamour. I read about them, their life bibliography. They are human after all. They have grief, they have worries, they have problems too so how much can they teach me?

I have forgotten God's existance although He was with me all the time...and I only go to Him when I have a problem. Being a born christian (Born in a christian family), I have been to Sunday School, raise with bible stories but I always forgot about God when I am doing fine. Only when I have problems, I will go back to Him.

For how many times or how long....I have already lost count that I am doing this until one day...like I have finally woke up from a bad dream and remember Him, my God, my Lord who never leave me or ditch me. He was that Father waiting for his lost son and He is always there waiting for me.

When you seek God and willing to believe in Him, it is amazing to see things you have not seen before and feel like you have never before. The evidence of Jesus Christ is the Son of God is so shockingly true for those who seek after the truth. However, not all and people who are like the old me, simply unwilling to believe even when the truth is put right before us.

I was afraid of changing my way of life, I was self-centred, I was afraid to change. This year 2009, I am turning 33 come October and this is also the age of Christ when he die willingly on the cross for my sin. Nothing in this world is bigger than Christ's when he die on the cross for each and everyone of us. So what is a little changes in my lifestyle compare to His sacrifice.

Since life begin at 33 when Jesus Christ die for my sin, I must begin my life again too at 33. Living by His foot steps, to serve and help those around.

With this I pray for God's strength, wisdom and guidance, Amen!
