Please help to stop the killing

Eight days later than usual, but still arriving, this year's seasonal cetaceans killing has begun at Taiji with about 50 pilot whales and 100 bottlenose dolphins being driven into the cove this morning as of 10 Sep 2009.

Taiji's fisherman plan to catch about 2,400 dolphins during this season, as well as pilot whales, neither of which are protected by the International Whaling Commission's ban on whaling. Upwards of 22,000 dolphins, porpoises, pilot whales and false killer whales are taken each hunting season.

Despite how heartbreaking it is to see dolphins killed like this, the kicker of this whole situation is that the meat is sold to a population of people who are for the most part completely unaware that it is laden with mercury (the dolphin meat served in Japan has as much as 5000 times more mercury than allowed by Japanese laws), and mostly unaware that it is dolphin in the first place since the dolphin meat is often labeled simply as "whale meat" in order to fetch a higher price. So not only are the fishermen killing thousands of intelligent animals in a horrific manner, they're also slowly killing people. A sad situation all around.

Please help to stop the killing by signing on the petition

I love meat but this is one meat I will not take

Damn! I am feeling guilty of eating whale meat once in Japan. Now I am suffering from a heavy heart as I am typing here. I love sashimi and meat but I really cannot bear the thought of eating dolphin meat. Especially after watching 'The Cove'. Some people will think that it is nothing wrong about killing dolphin since we also kill other animal for their meat but what's the point of killing dolphin when their meat is high in mercury and consuming their meat will end up killing us. Demand and supply theory again, if no one consume dolphin, they will stop killing dolphin.

The BIG Mayonnaise Jar

Something interesting to ponder over....was send to me by others.

When things in your life seem, Almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class

And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again
If the jar was full... They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand

And poured it into the jar.. Of course, the sand filled up everything
else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively
Filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life..
The golf balls are the important things - God, family,
children, health, friends, and favorite passions ?

Things that if everything else was lost

And only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and
car.

The sand is everything else --
The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life..

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are
Important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.
Playwith your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter..
Set your priorities.. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand
And inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

属于我的。。。终究是我的

Been having some mental block and been kind of feeling low for the past few months but the mind block is being removed after reading this:

It has been foretold that everything happen for a cause so why do we fear when we have the love of God and He is standing with us.

May our fear be banish and whatever will come, should come.

我 知 道 神 一 切 所 作 的 、 都 必 永 存 、 無 所 增 添 、 無 所 減 少 .
神 這 樣 行 、 是 要 人 在 他 面 前 存 敬 畏 的 心

Injustice

My dad once told me that this world is not fair as some people are born rich while others are poor, some are healthy and some die young. There are many injustice in this world that are cause by men too and recent Myanmar's Suu Kyi charged over US intruder is one of them. It dawn on me that without God, what will happened to this injustice?

Let's continue to pray for these silent sufferer.

Thoughts of the day....my life could be worst off as a pig

Have you ever wonder what life will be if you are born in some other parts of the world? Maybe this could be you or me?

What if I am that poor girl or the family members?

Or just maybe...I am born a pig instead? Opps....some innocent pigs are being slaughter in Cairo.

Guess I have to be Thankful and count my blessings to be born and raise in Singapore.

Sometime all these news just make me so upset....and make me wan to hide

but since I am given a better chance and choice than others...I better do something good to deserve this life...been trying for that multiplier for a few months now but not sure how well did it go...maybe no one is passing the message but at least I am doing something.

Hmmm....time to find more encouraging verse.
